Food and Drug Administration of the Philippines
Establishments involved in the manufacture, packaging, re-packaging, importation, exportation, distribution, and retailing of processed foods, drugs, medical devices, in vitro diagnostic reagents, cosmetics, and household hazardous substance products in the Philippines must secure a License To Operate from FDA. Conducts inspections and issues licenses for the operation of establishments involved in the importation, exportation, distribution and retailing of processed foods, drugs, medical devices, and in vitro diagnostic reagents.
Any Company wishing to deal with health and beauty, cosmetics, or pharmaceuticals must obtain a License To Operate from FDA
Philippine Bureau of Customs BOC
Under the auspices of the Department of Finance (DOF), BOC is mandated to implement an effective revenue collection. Prevent and suppress smuggling and entry of prohibited imported goods in to the Philippines. Supervise and control over the entrance and clearance of vessels and air-crafts and engaged in foreign commerce, and the enforcement of the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines and all other laws, rules and regulations related to tariff and customs administration. Any entity wishing to import or export any goods must get clearance from BOC.
The BIR is mandated by law to assess and collect all national internal revenue taxes, fees and charges, and to enforce all forfeitures, penalties and fines connected therewith, including the execution of judgments in all cases decided in its favor by the Philippines Court of Tax Appeals and the ordinary courts (Sec. 2 of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997). All entities and self employed individuals must apply for a tax identification number (TIN)and is responsible to pay personal or corporate tax.
Philippine National Police Fire Arms and Explosive Division and Security Management Division FED
FED is the governing body of the Philippine National Police (PNP) that is responsible for all fire arms licenses. In addition any business operating in the manufacturing of fire arms, ammunition, and explosives must register and receive a license from FED. Operation of a gun club must also secure a license to operate. Any entity wishing to conduct itself in security matters must also register with the Security Management Division (SMD).
