The Bureau of Immigration (BI) thru BI Commissioner Siegfred B. Mison reminded foreign nationals that they have until March 1, 2014 to file their annual report in person and those who fail will be meted administrative fines. He urged foreigners to avoid deadline rush by making their annual report earlier.

He further said that the new procedure of requiring personal appearances and prescribing new forms was imposed to strictly enforce immigration rules as prescribed by the Alien Registration Act.

Foreigners must report in person and register to select BI offices in the country and submit the Annual Report form which is completely filled out and all requirements are complete. However, foreigners under 14 years of age and senior citizens over 65 years old are exempted from making personal appearances but are nevertheless required to pay P310 and fill out the Annual Report form.

The annual report form may be downloaded via immigration.gov.ph. Application fee is P310.

Travel agencies and other entities transacting with the BI are no longer allowed to accomplish the application form or pay the corresponding application fees in behalf of their clients.
