The Securities and Exchange Commission in the Philippines closes its offices anew due to Coronavirus fears. On July 9th and 10th the SEC Main office will suspend work in the entire Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Complex.

Two outsourced employees of the SEC had confirmed positive Covid-19 PCR tests on July 7th. As per protocol, the SEC has closed the office for two days while it undergoes disinfection. Employees that have been in close proximity with the outsourced staff are awaiting results. Should they prove positive SEC intends to remain closed on Monday July 13th as well.

While the courier service of the SEC remains operable this additional closure may impact timelines of companies conducting business registration activities or updating corporate filings.  In addition, the SEC announced that Corporations with SEC registration or license numbers ending in 1 and 2 shall have another week, from 10 to 14 August 2020.
